Sparta are taking Cut A Silhouette overseas. The El Paso post-hardcore band have announced a UK and European tour for October 2026, adding a 16-date run that starts October 4 at The Sound House in Dublin and wraps October 22 at Wilde Western in Kortrijk, Belgium.
The dates land ahead of Cut A Silhouette, Sparta's sixth album, which Equal Vision Records lists for release on May 29, 2026. Equal Vision's announcement credits the record to Equal Vision Records, Dine Alone Records, and Sparta, with J. Robbins producing, engineering, and recording the album at Magpie Cage Recording Studio. The label also notes that the latest preview is “Everything You Say,” following earlier single “Crater.”
For a band born out of the At the Drive-In aftershock, Sparta's best work has always lived in the tension between structure and combustion: Jim Ward's melodic instincts pulling against the harder, more angular mechanics underneath. Cut A Silhouette appears to lean into that chemistry. Equal Vision says the current lineup is Ward with bassist Matt Miller and drummer Neil Hennessy, and describes the record as written across hotel rooms, practice spaces, studios, and soundchecks over the course of a year.
Ward sounds properly lit up about getting the new material back across the Atlantic. In the NME report, he says, “There is no better feeling than hopping on a plane to cross an ocean to play music. The gift of travel, friends, sweat and rock and roll is one that I’ll be forever grateful for.” He adds that the record is “a special one” and says the band “can’t wait to get back to some of our favourite cities with some of our favourite people.”
The October routing hits a tightly packed set of rooms across Ireland, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. For a band whose catalog still means a lot to post-hardcore lifers, that scale makes sense: close enough to sweat, loud enough to remind people why Wiretap Scars never really left the bloodstream.
