The Mary Wallopers have announced their third album, Paddywhackery, and put the first song from it into the world. NME reports that the Dundalk band's new record is set for September 18, with the official Republic of Music pre-order page also listing the album as out September 18.
The lead single is 'Crowns of England,' a rowdy new track that NME frames as an outsider's view of England in 2026. The band recorded Paddywhackery during a two-week stretch in Liverpool with producer James Skelly of The Coral, following 2023's Irish Rock'n'Roll.
This is the lane where the Wallopers make the most sense: folk music played like pub shrapnel, political enough to bruise, funny enough to keep the room from turning into homework. The album title is a pretty clear tell that they know exactly how people hear them, and that they are leaning all the way into it.
The band will follow the announcement with a UK and Ireland run that opens October 13 in Edinburgh and includes London, Dublin, and Glasgow. NME reports that The Coral will support in Brighton, Dublin, and Glasgow, with tickets going on sale Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. local time.
