LCD Soundsystem have announced 15 new North American tour dates for August and September 2026, expanding what was already shaping up to be one of their busiest years since reforming. James Murphy and company will take the extended run from Vancouver’s Freedom Mobile Arch on August 7 all the way through to a closing set at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta on September 20, with stops in Oregon, Montana, Colorado, Minnesota, California, Maine, Connecticut, and North Carolina along the way.
The highlight of the new dates is a pair of shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on August 15 and 16. LCD Soundsystem at Red Rocks is the kind of venue-band pairing that sells itself — Murphy’s meticulous electronic grooves bouncing off ancient red sandstone at 6,450 feet, the Denver skyline glittering in the distance. If you’ve ever wanted to hear “All My Friends” in a setting that matches the song’s emotional scale, this is probably the closest you’ll get.
The expansion comes on top of a four-night stand at Boston’s Roadrunner starting April 30, plus previously announced appearances at BottleRock Napa Valley on May 23 and Reno’s Grand Theatre on May 24. LCD Soundsystem have been operating at a different pace since their 12-night residency at the Knockdown Center in Queens last December — shows that saw the band dusting off deep cuts like “Too Much Love” for the first time in 14 years. The residency model seemed to energize the band in a way that one-off festival slots don’t, and these newly added dates suggest they’re carrying that momentum into the summer.
Murphy has also been confirmed for Harry Styles’ curated Meltdown 2026 at London’s Southbank Centre, sitting alongside an indie-packed lineup that includes Nilüfer Yanya, Bar Italia, Dev Hynes, Orlando Weeks, and Stephen Fretwell. It’s the kind of curation that positions Murphy exactly where he belongs — at the intersection of dance music, art rock, and indie credibility, a space he essentially invented with “Losing My Edge” and has been defending ever since.
What’s notable about this tour expansion is the venue selection. Two nights at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. Two nights at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, Montana. Three nights at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut. These aren’t arena dates — they’re mid-cap rooms in secondary markets, the kind of shows where the sound is better, the crowds are more invested, and the band has room to stretch. For a group whose live show is fundamentally about building hypnotic grooves that need time to breathe, these rooms are a smart choice. LCD Soundsystem in a 2,000-cap venue hits different than LCD Soundsystem in a shed.
Presale for the new dates begins at 10 AM local time on Tuesday, April 28. No new album has been announced — the band’s most recent studio record remains 2017’s American Dream — but the increased touring activity and residency model have fueled speculation that Murphy is working on new material. Whether that materializes or not, the live show alone is more than enough reason to buy a ticket. LCD Soundsystem remain one of the few bands whose concerts genuinely improve the longer they play, and with the Knockdown Center residency still fresh in the rearview, this summer’s shows should be something special.
