Geese are officially crossing over. NBC has confirmed the New York band will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on January 24, with Teyana Taylor hosting. For a group that spent 2025 quietly ascending — from cult-level buzz to one of the most talked-about rock acts on the planet — the SNL booking is the formal coronation.
The news shouldn't come as a total shock. During SNL's final 2025 episode, cast member James Austin Johnson did a full Cameron Winter impression in a sketch, playing the cryptic Geese frontman opposite Ariana Grande's host stint. The sketch was ridiculous and very funny, and it also confirmed that Geese had fully entered the cultural conversation — the kind of recognition that only comes when normies have started learning your lead singer's name.
Getting Killed, the band's fourth album, came out in September and hit like a freight train. It's their strangest, most ambitious record: a clattering, groove-heavy thing that sounds like it was produced by a hip-hop luminary (it was — Kenny Beats, now Kenneth Blume, handled it) while still sounding unmistakably like a New York rock band spiraling beautifully out of control. Songs like '100 Horses' and 'THERE'S A BOMB IN MY CAR' — yes, that's the actual lyric delivered as the album's opening scream — made it the rare rock record that rewards repeat listens with new details every time.
Since the album dropped, Geese have been everywhere: Jimmy Kimmel, Nigel Godrich's From the Basement, BBC Radio 1. Cameron Winter, who put out his own solo album Heavy Metal in 2024 to equal acclaim, has become indie rock's most compelling frontman. The SNL spot is well-earned.
The January 24 episode will air live. Set your DVR. Or don't, but don't come crying to us when you miss it.
