Black Country, New Road are coming back to North America, and this time they're bringing Horsegirl with them. The London-based six-piece has announced a run of North American dates for June and July, marking their second US and Canada tour since releasing Forever Howlong last year — their first record following frontman Isaac Wood's departure days before the album dropped.
That exit was one of the more dramatic pivots in recent indie rock history. Wood announced he was leaving the band two days before the February 2022 release of Ants From Up There, citing mental health reasons. The remaining six members could have called it quits or imploded. Instead, they regrouped, released live albums to keep momentum, and eventually put out Forever Howlong in 2025 — a record that made the case, persuasively, that BC,NR are bigger than any one member.
Chicago's Horsegirl open all North American dates. This is the right call. The trio's debut Versions of Modern Performance was one of 2022's quietly essential indie rock albums, all coiled guitar tension and weird pop energy. They're perfectly matched for BC,NR's restless, post-rock-adjacent universe.
